The Power Of Tiny Gains

Ever heard the saying, be 1% better each day? Have you ever thought more about this and what impact this could have?

Today I wanted to highlight the power of tiny gains and how over time this can have a huge impact on acheiving your goals.

You see every day you can either get better or you can get worse, but the compounding effect between the two isn’t equal.

If all you focused on was getting 1% better every day for a year, you’re going 37 x better than you were when you started.

The thing is, once you start taking action to focus on that 1% improvement, every day it gets easier to do so. Because the brain works to turn every repeated action into a habit.

The more habits we have that support our goals, the easier it is to achieve our goals and the more action you take to get those tiny gains, the more momentum you’ll build.

It’s so easy to overlook small improvements on a daily basis. Massive success doesn’t always come from massive action, which, let’s be honest is pretty hard when the motivation isn’t always there. Most of the time it just comes from being consistent and just showing up no matter what. Then making small consistent changes over time.

Those changes are hard, but they all add up.

So don’t settle for where you’re at, but do focus on small improvements.

Go for that workout, read that book, get up early to ride, book a lesson, study people you admire and make changes. The people who find ways to succeed in life are the same ones who are committed to consistently getting better over time.

As the great Jim Rohn once said, “success is a few simple disciplines, practised every day; while failure. Is simply a few errors in judgement, repeated every day”.

So what’s it going to be today?

1% or 1% worse?
